The first thing you need to do is decide what kind of Still you want. That question brings up another question. What kind of Spirit do you want to make? Do you want to make Bourbon? Rum? Corn Whiskey? Well then, these require a simple Pot Still.
Vodka? Your gonna need a reflux still to do that one. If you know for a FACT you will be making whiskeys then only worry about a pot still. Most of us will not be satisfied with this though. If your like me and like to experiment then you will without a doubt want it ALL, which brings us to the Reflux still. Most of these designs can be run as a Pot Still for making whiskeys and Rums which will be referred to from here on as Flavor Positive Spirits (FPS).
